In February, our industry-leading ‘Showcase’ event welcomed buyers, designers and CEO’s of the most influential high-street brands. This year’s showcase event proved to be an even greater success, with the London edition helping to advise, inspire and inform the development of next seasons clothing ranges, business growth and strategic planning. Haddow truly influences the look of the U.K. retail landscape; if you missed the opportunity to join, here is a behind the curtain as to what took place.
Trends across Boy’s, Girl’s, Ladies and Men’s were researched and then presented with our newest, specially designed samples. From nightwear robes to bikini tops, this clothing development reflected pioneering techniques, innovate fabrics, unique trims and adventurous styling details. All samples are manufactured globally by Haddow Group’s partner factories within specialist regions. These trend areas are open to touch, browse and photograph throughout the day, positioned around the main stage of expert speakers. Haddow Group provides all customers with category specific and seasonally updated trends on a regular basis.
A key benefit of attendance is that guests gain access to expert trend-forecasting and inspiring design direction. Trend talks included ‘Kids colour and trend briefing,’ ‘The Male Form: Core themes and trends’ and ‘Women’s Summer colour, print and shapes.’ Talks discuss colour and print information, shape, styling, WGSN insights and discoveries from our global comp shops – with a New York comp shop pending, we are excited to add to this mix further.
Outside of trends and colours, guests could browse our specialist ‘pods’ manned by our experts of specific departments. Sustainability is crucial at Haddow Group, with the pod area showcasing fabrics, clothing, facts and the talents of our team. Our Guest speaker, Momtaz Begum-Hossain, discussed ‘The Power of Colour.’ Her work as a colour therapist has formed a detailed understanding of consumer’s relationships with colour and how this relates to the swimwear market. Haddow Group prides itself on forming a diverse mix of specialists and creatives, with Momtaz adding a unique perspective to the day that was thoroughly enjoyable to listen to and debate.
The Specialist pod was also popular; the area showcased innovations at Haddow, with a display of everything from stoma friendly swimwear to float-suit childrenswear. The dedicated individual who developed the garment was available to discuss any potential questions on our niche category products.
The Sourcing pod showcased Haddow’s globalised capabilities and factory contacts.
